The Best Chili is At The Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds Tomorrow!
I've only been involved with the annual Hand-in-Hand Chili Cook-Off for a few years, but Hand-in-Hand has been a big part of my daughters life for a long time. After school programs, field trips, and teen dances have helped her improve her socialization skills. They run a camp each Summer and it is such an inspiration to see these mostly forgotten kids thrive in the company of their awesome camp counselors. It's such a great program for so many special needs kids that as a parent I couldn't imagine it not being around. Saturday is their big fundraiser, a chili cook-off and silent auction at the fairgrounds. Come on out, taste home-grown and restaurant recipes to your belly's content, and bring the kids! It's a great time, and just like the cliche goes, a great cause...
