A burn ban is currently in place in Scott County, and officials are asking residents to take it seriously as dry and windy conditions increase the risk of fires spreading quickly.
After a very dry October and being under a burn ban for almost a month, the Scott County Emergency Management Agency has lifted the burn ban ahead of Halloween night.
A burn ban has been placed in effect for Scott County which includes Davenport, Iowa. The burn ban is in effect until further notice. Clinton and Dubuque County also has a burn ban in place.
