Stella is a Maremma Sheepdog that protects livestock for Napa Grass Farmer in Fairfield, California just became the mother of a litter of seventeen adorable puppies.

About a month ago, Stella was taken to Barney and Russum Animal Clinic where she gave birth to two of the pups on her own. A veterinary technician was on hand to help deliver the other fifteen. Heidi Schwartz said, "We did C-section, and it was just one puppy after another, after another." She calls it the largest litter that she's ever seen.

The best part of all is that each of the puppies survived. They are now a month old and happily playing on the farm. The owner plans on keeping one or two of them and will adopt the others out to responsible farmers.
