Rock n Roll Uniforms?

I am on firm believer that uniforms do not belong in rock.  You can wear costumes all day long (Kiss) and you can wear theatrical make up (Alice Cooper) but matching outfits? I always made fun of Green Day wearing their American Idiot outfits.  I understand each band has its own wardrobe... but to have them match seemed very un rock 'n roll to me.

So while I'm very excited to hear that Faith No More are putting together a new album and touring, I'm realizing from most of their promo pictures and live... they are all wearing matching outfits.

I'm torn!

A band that I love is going against the very argument that I've sent forth against Green Day! I'm going to go ahead and give Faith No More a pass because they are that good. The meantime i've got to go get my 97X uniform washed for this weekend.
