Yesterday was the date 29 years ago that the Rock world lost Phil Lynott ... bassist and lead singer for Thin Lizzy ..  died at age 37 from a heart failure/lung asphyxia due to septicaemia... the stories vary a little because of his drug addiction, but his death was no less a tragedy.   He also played in the ORIGINAL band "Skid Row"  (with Gary Moore)  an Irish band that later sold the name to Sebastian Bach and the hair band who did "I Remember You" and "18 & Life" etc.,  kind of an interesting story ...

If you ever saw Phil Lynott perform, you came away very impressed.  He stood out.  It was a real shame when Thin Lizzy disbanded, and it was a monumental shame when he died.  Listen for my favorite Thin Lizzy song on the 5:00 punch out today .. and of course, today I salute you Thin Lizzy fans!
