Peoria’s Second Favorite Son…

It's not my usual style to write about a soft-rock/folk artist... but since he's from 90 miles away, I decided to do it.  Today is the birthday of the late-Dan Fogelberg.  He would have been 63 today, but sadly he died from cancer in 2007.   He was born and grew up in Peoria and there is a Memorial Garden in his honor at Riverfront Park, plus he had a street near his old high school re-named in his honor.  And the word is that he was genuinely a pretty nice guy.  So "hats off" to Peoria for these tributes ... nice job.

Oh, and Peoria's FAVORITE son(s) ...?    Well, Dwyer and Michaels, of course.  But like the songs they sometimes play on their show, their memorial was only three-quarters finished before they cut it off ....
