Not the Military type…?

Jimi Hendrix was discharged from the Army on this date in 1962.  The official military report was that he was discharged after breaking his ankle during a parachute jump, and then there were "unofficial" reports that he was discharged when he faked being gay and it worked.  I think it was truth that he had begun paratrooper training at Fort Campbell, which makes the first report believable, but there's too many different stories about his discharge.  Here's another story ... Jim Morrison (son of a decorated Navy Rear Admiral) also was rumored to have faked being gay to get out of military service.  Yes, it was a different world back then ... but does this tarnish YOUR image of Jimi ...?  Or Jim ..?  I'm not judging or preaching, but I can't help but ponder if it's completely possible to know how you'd feel if your son, or nephew, or best friend would have "played that card" back in the 60's.  It certainly would put unconditional love on the front page...
