Mountain Lion Wakes California Homeowners While Chowing Down on Their Porch

If you're not familiar with the sounds that cats make, let me inform you. They can be as loud as Hell when they want to be. Now imagine instead of a house cat, it's a big ass cougar out on your porch.

Mary Mines and Peter Rauenbuehler were awoken around 3:30am the other morning when they heard loud noises outside of their window.

"I didn't have my glasses on so when I looked through the peephole I thought it was a coyote," said Mines. "And I turned to Peter and I said, 'There's a coyote on our front porch,' because we have a lot here. I opened the door and I looked and I said, 'That's not a coyote, that's a much bigger animal.'"

Their security camera caught the big cat dragging a freshly killed deer off their property. The residents believe the sound they heard originally was the mountain lion banging the deer against their metal fence.
