Gonna take a trip down the "lane" here for those of you that remember 1972 ... This the date of the original "Midnight Special".  It was originally just intended to be a 90-minute special with the purpose of encouraging young people to vote, but after a few more specials off-and-on, it became a regular programming slot so NBC could stay on the air after Johnny Carson on Friday nights.  But can you remember some of the awesone performances that aired?  They actually aired David Bowie's FINAL performance as Ziggy Stardust, a concert done in London .. a picture from it appears above... but there were performances by War, BB King, Kiss, The Cars, Richard Pryor, Peter Frampton.. and TONS more!   Ever wish they could do that show again? I'd settle for somebody just airing the classic ones once in a while...
