There's no such thing as an ex-Marine and an armed robber learned that lesson the hard way.

Police in Altoona, Pennsylvania report that a man walked into Ajay's Bar sometime around 1 A.M. with the intent to rob the joint. He had the bartender, a retired Marine veteran, at gun point.

The bartender went to hand over money from the cash register and was able to disarm the robber. During the scuffle, a single round was fired off, but neither man was hit by it. The police believe the suspect received a facial injury after being hit by the gun.

The failed robber ran away on foot and officers were able to follow a blood trail to a nearby backyard where they found the gun.
