A woman in New Mexico was running a marathon on Saturday in Valles Caldera National Preserve, just outside Santa Fe. In the middle of running the marathon, she got attacked by a bear.

Its cubs were nearby, so that's why it attacked. The woman ended up with injuries to her head, neck, and upper body, and had to be airlifted out. None of the injuries were life-threatening, so it looks like she'll be okay.

Unfortunately, the bear had to be euthanized after it was caught. As of last night, they hadn't found its three cubs yet. Wildlife officials are planning to move them to a nearby wildlife center once they do.
