Mammoth Car Returns!

I spent way too much time as a youngster watching Speed Racer, a cartoon where a family racing team not only wins races, but generally saves the world each episode from some sort of world takeover espionage plot.  Pretty far fetched stuff, like this giant car that is somehow used to snuggle gold.  Before they can figure out how it's doing the smuggling, they must first dismantle it, and the team of terrorists/mobsters running point.

All very exciting stuff for a kids just home from school, watching in between bites of a grilled cheese sandwich.  But then I see the following story on the news, and I'm brought right back...perhaps delivering this Demethanator thingy is merely a cover for a gold smuggling operation.
