Longboard Island Lager; Around The World In 50 Beers
Another from the Kona Brewing Co. in Hawaii, this is a refreshing solid lager beer. Mahalo.
From what I know about longboard surfing, it takes a lot more time to learn, but the ride is a lot smoother than the boogie board generation gets. Same for this mini-masterpiece from Kona.
Just the facts:
Bottle temp at opening: 38 degrees.
Drinking temp: 38 degrees
Nose: A lager never tells.
Taste: Dig in to this sandy bit of sunshine.
Rating: 5 bottles out of 6
This is a smooth lager that isn't trying to beat you over the head with hops or mysterious ingredients. This is straight-up full flavored beer, maybe with a hint, a HINT of sweet. But the malt and barley are perfectly combined, like the cool fall day and natural fireplace crackling in the reflection of the glass.
I will drink this 'til I'm done.
