Lay’s Introduces New Flavored Potato Chip as Suggested by a Fan

Lay's just announced the winner of their "Do Us a Flavor" contest, where customers got to submit new flavor ideas. The finalists were "Southern Biscuits and Gravy", "Greektown Gyro", "West Coast Truffle Fries", and "New York Reuben".

Biscuits and Gravy won. Hailey Green of Noblesville, Indiana suggested the new flavor and will get $1 million, or 1% of their net sales through July if it ends up being more than a million bucks. Each of the runner-ups will go home with $50,000.

Earlier this year, Lay’s offered some insight into Green and her winning flavor: "She has a great appreciation for each locale’s ‘homemade style,’ because it reminds her of her own childhood, filled with memories of eating Southern food in her grandmother’s kitchen,” Lay’s said in a release. “One of Hailey’s favorite dishes is biscuits and gravy — a recipe that was handed down in her family generation after generation."
