Japanese Supergroup Holds Intense Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament For Top Spot
Here in the states we use Rock, Paper, Scissors to settle menial disputes like who gets to ride shotgun or who gets the last slice of pizza. In Japan they have much higher stakes.
The music supergroup AKB48 held a gigantic "janken" tournament, that's what they call Rock, Paper, Scissors. 98 competitors were split into seven groups, each winner from those groups got to record a new CD.
Those seven winners then went head-to-head to decide who the leader of the group will be. The video below shows the final match:
