Another November Bobcat Sighting Reported In Iowa
Bobcat sighting have been on the rise in the great state of Iowa. The Iowa DNR say it's "trivial increases" today that increases was seen in a small town in Iowa. The bobcat made a quick appearance on a trail cam.
It is reported that the bobcat population in Iowa is estimated to be between 4,000 and 6,500. The population is growing and spreading, and bobcats are now appearing in suburbs and neighborhoods
There are plenty of reasons people want bobcats far away from them, their animals, and their property. The Iowa DNR reports,
Conserving and managing carnivore populations is often one of the most challenging ecological and sociological problems facing wildlife biologists. Public opinion ranges from recognition that predator diversity and abundance are
positive indicators of healthy ecosystems yet at the same time predation can create conflicts with livestock and impact on other wildlife species.
Confirmed sighting are the important part of this. One that can be proven with pictures or video. Just to make sure someone didn't just see a big cat.
The Possible IowaSighting
This sighting comes from an anonymous source in McCausland Iowa. This location is just about 30 minutes out from the Quad Cities. The population sits at just over 300 people, and the area looks perfect for a big cat.

This trail cam shot was from earlier this year in the morning. As always stay safe and keep an eye out for bobcats and mountain lions... though one is much less common than the other.
