Minor, Major League Baseball Games Returning To Iowa’s Iconic Field Of Dreams
"If you build it, he will come."
We all know the movie that put Iowa on the map: "Field of Dreams". It's a cinematic love letter to baseball and the Dyersville field has become so iconic that MLB teams do actually play there.
In 2022, the Chicago Cubs faced the Cincinnati Reds on the Field of Dreams and in 2026, another round of MLB and Triple-A matchups will happen.
According to MLB.com, on August 11th at the Field of Dreams, the St. Paul Saints and the Iowa Cubs will face off, bringing Minor League Baseball to the Field of Dreams for the first time since the Quad Cities River Bandits took on the Cedar Rapids Kernels. That was the first MiLB game at the Field of Dreams.
Quad Cities (who played as the Davenport Blue Sox) won against the Kernels (who were the Cedar Rapids Bunnies).
Major League Ball At The Field
Just 2 days after the Iowa Cubs and St. Paul Saints play, on August 13th, the major leagues will take the field. The Minnesota Twins and the Philadelphia Phillies will play.
The field used for these games is adjacent to the one used in the movie. The first Major League Baseball game to be played in the Field of Dreams was the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees in 2021.
You'll be able to get tickets for the game through MLB's website. But the MLB is going to do something with Netflix for this, according to MLB Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred, Jr.
