
Iowa Governor Signs 12 New Bills Into Law In One Day
Governor Reynolds had a busy Friday.
According to a press release from Governor Kim Reynolds' office, she signed 12 bills into law on Friday.
Here are the dozen that are becoming Iowa law:
SF 397: an act relating to assaults and penalties for them, including assaults on people with certain jobs, inmate assaults on Department of Corrections employees
SF 166: relates to bank utilization of filing services offered by the Secretary of State
SF 266: deals with gift card fraud, forgery, and theft and penalties for it
SF 460: act relating to home inspections: people who are authorized to perform them, requirements for independent home inspections, and applicable penalties
HF 924: makes legal age to carry and own handguns 18 years old
HF 647: deals with where certain criminal trials can be held
HF 860: does not allow state and local regulations on fuel-powered equipment based on the equipment's fuel source
HF 857: relates to solicitation from financial institutions using prescreened trigger lead info from consumer reports
HF 363: deals with who decides on a final deposition of remains
HF 314: allows certain adoption proceedings to have a waiver of preplacement investigations and reports
HF 309: relates to the review of the Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing of certain deficient practices by nursing facilities
HF 367: allows for family interactions if the parents fail to comply with a court order (supervised or unsupervised) unless the child is at serious risk
