A restaurant in the Village of East Davenport is closed for now.

A water main break over New Year's weekend severely impacted a restaurant on Mound Street. The water level became so high that it has forced Grilled Cheese Bar to close until further notice.

The water main was next to Grilled Cheese Bar, which sits below street level. First, the restaurant closed on Sunday and posted pictures from the water main break.

But the damage to the Grilled Cheese Bar was still severe enough to close down the restaurant until further notice. They soon after posted on Facebook:

Water isn't the only problem in the restaurant. The post says that the entire restaurant is now covered in sand and mud after the water main break. According to KWQC, restaurant workers were seen carrying out dining room furniture to clean. Grilled Cheese Bar asks for your help to rally back. The first post by the Grilled Cheese Bar says they will need "your support more than ever when they reopen".

At the moment, there's no word yet on if or when Grilled Cheese Bar will open their doors again.  You can keep up with the latest from Grilled Cheese Bar on their Facebook page here or on their Instagram.

As for the water main, crews have been working to repair it. That section by Grilled Cheese Bar, from River Drive to the intersection of Mound Street & 12th, has been closed to allow for the repair.
