I'm not sure my mom is cool with it...but I got ordained today.

With my credentials I'll be able to:

  • Legally officiate weddings across the United States
  • Impress your friends, family, and peers with your new official status
  • Expand your career as a minister / professional officiant

The one I'm most looking forward to is #2:  Impressing my friends, family & peers.  It's been a while since I've been able to do that.  As a matter of fact I can't think of the last time I impressed anyone.

It could be argued that the act of marrying two people should be relegated to the leader of the church but not everyone agrees. Everyone has a different relationship with the man upstairs and different views on how marriage should be administered.

But there's no judgement from Reverend Stage.

All I did was get online at www.ulc.org.  I scrolled past the celebrity minsters, Conan O'Brien, Ben Cumberbatch, Ian McKellen, Lady Gaga and The Rock...clicked on "Become an Ordained Minister", filled out my name & address and BOOM! Instant Ordainment!

Yes...I can now officially be included in the same group as Sir Paul McCartney! So, since I have no hope of being knighted or inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame...this is a huge accomplishment for me.

I may have impressed myself with this one.

So, I look forward to officiating my first wedding.  This will be happening next month at an undisclosed location.  I'll keep you informed to how it goes...but in the meantime:

Can anyone tell me where to get one of those weird-collard shirts?  Any tips are appreciated.

Thanks,

Reverend Stage
