It’s almost time…

We're just over 12 hours away from rappelling off the roof of the Financial Center in Des Moines.  Pat Miletich challenged me to do this with him, listeners pledged over $1400 to Special Olympics of Iowa, and now I'm sitting in a hotel room realizing how screwed I am.

We went through the briefing of how it'll work tomorrow.  Here's some of the safety equipment:

After signing our lives away, we headed up to the "practice" area which is on the roof of an adjacent building that's only 3 stories up.  Here's the rigging, the view, and an MMA Hall of Famer who is about to sh@t himself:

Remember, this is at 30 feet up.  Tomorrow at 10:30 it's the real deal--345 feet straight down off the roof of this bad boy.  (If you look close at the top left hand corner of the building there's a tiny white speck.  That's a guy in a white hard hat. Can you see him in the second picture?)
