Happy Birthday Patrick !

Happy 69th Birthday to the only member of the Doobie Brothers that lasted through every change... Patrick Simmons.   He's the guy who, with short hair, looks like the bad cop from the Eddie Murphy/Nick Nolte "48 hours" movies ...  it's weird and creepy..  But he's a great guy and a great underrated guitarist, and when paired with Tom Johnston .. they made some incredible music!!

One of my favorite things about the Doobies is they're the only band that I've ever seen "pull-off" having their kids come out on stage and play along with them in concert.  It was just plain cool !  So on this date Doobie Brothers fans ... I salute you!
