Getting Hammered Won’t Affect You at Work the Next Day, as Long as You Sleep
Now it's time for a really bad lesson. You can go out tonight, drink ten beers, smoke a pack of cigarettes, and eat $30 worth of Taco Bell. As long as you get into bed at a reasonable time, you'll be absolutely fine at work tomorrow.
A new study out of Cambridge University in England found drinking alcohol, eating junk food, and smoking won't have any effect on your productivity as long as you get a good night's sleep.
They found that the real productivity killer is sleeping less than seven hours, regardless of what other self-destructive stuff we do.
There's only one thing that's worse for how much you get done than being tired: Stressing about money. The study also found that being underweight is worse for your productivity than being overweight.
