Florida Man Arrested After Attacking Flamingo at Busch Gardens
Joseph Carrao was with his family at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in the Jambo Junction animal viewing area. Witness say they saw him reach into the pen and grab a Chilean flamingo named Pinky. 45-year-old Carrao then allegedly slammed the bird into the ground “in a rage.”
A statement from the park says, “Pinky was immediately transported to the park’s Animal Care Center were veterinarians made the decision to humanely euthanize her based on the severity of her injuries. Pinky was a beloved member of the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay family and made many appearances on behalf of the park’s conservation and education efforts. She will be sorely missed."
Carrao was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty.
