At Harrington's Pub, in Bettendorf, they like to celebrate St Patrick's Day twice a year. Which is fine by me because it's my favorite *ahem* holiday. I love the color green, I love the people and more importantly I like to have a couple of good beers when I get the chance.

This weekend HP is having their annual Halfway to St Patrick's Day 5k, and it's the perfect 5k for a guy like me. I'm not much of a runner. Not much of a walker either, but if you tell me I can run, walk, or bike a 5k and get some delicious corned beef and cabbage afterwards then I'm all in. Bonus if I can have a couple of slightly chilled Guinness to wash it all down.

One of the things I also love about this 5k is that all the proceeds go to a good cause. All proceeds from this go to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

The run is this Saturday at 9 a.m. at Harrington's Pub. 2321 Cumberland Dr. in Bettendorf. Packet pickup will be tomorrow evening from 5-8 or you can pick it up Saturday morning before the race. Here's how you can register.
