At approximately 4:07 a.m., the Lower Moreland Police Department received a distress call reporting a suspicious person wearing a mask at the front door of a residence. Responding promptly, the first officer on the scene discovered a man in the act of setting the home on fire, with the porch already engulfed in flames.
Upon the police's arrival, the suspect made an attempt to escape to a waiting vehicle parked in front of the targeted home. However, the getaway driver sped away prematurely, leaving the would-be arsonist stranded. The suspect then tried to flee on foot but was apprehended in the backyard of the residence by law enforcement.
