A dark lager on a snowy afternoon. It's hard for me to review a Dark Lager, or a dark anything, since I cut my teeth on Guinness, the deserving king of the dark brews.

Just the Facts

Bottle temp at opening: 36 degrees.

Drinking temp: 45 degrees.

Nose: caramel. sweet barley.

Taste: Flavors mix well as it warms up.

This Gi Gi adds a little more than the eye-candy on the label--as a sweet hint of chocolate or caramel pops up halfway through the taste, but that doesn't quite hide the extra alcohol of this dark beer.  A little bite at the end is the result.
