There may be no better ambassador for the blues in any market anywhere than it's long-time Quad Cities champion, Ellis Kell.

So who better to go to when we heard that The Mississippi Valley Blues Society will again be bringing Bluesfest to the banks of the Mississippi in Davenport this July (weather and river permitting?)  Ellis has been the voice of Blues Music, Education, and Reason In the Quad Cities longer than Dwyer and Michaels have been around.  And that's saying something.

Bluesfest costs money to put on.  Not just by gate admission, but by sponsors, interested parties and fans all coming together.  Thursday night at the RME downtown, catch a screening of 'Cheat You Fair: The Story Of Maxwell Street' in an effort to raise a little money for the 'Fest.  I don't know if a portion of your ticket price goes to the MVBS, or if they're passing the hat, or just pick-pocketing you when you arrive, but they'll be getting donations. Of that you can be sure.

Can't wait to have Ellis on the show.  It always an adventurous ride.  Let's help out the Blues Fest.

Sincerely, Wang Dang Doodle
