Nickelback jokes are a little played out, not that they weren't justified, or that Nickelback is any more listenable now.

But the police in Canada are taking a new jab. And I'm going to let them because Canada spawned Nickelback, so only they can truly destroy them.

Police in the small town of Kensington in Prince Edward Island are trying to cut down on drunk driving over the holidays by making a very specific threat.

Anyone arrested for DUI will be fined, charged, issued a year-long driving suspension, and forced to listen to Nickelback's third album "Silver Side Up" on their trip to jail.

In a Facebook post, the department says, "Now, now, no need to thank us, we figure if you are foolish enough to get behind the wheel after drinking, then a little Chad Kroeger and the boys is the perfect gift for you. You don't drink and drive, and we won't make you listen to it."
