Black Pale Ale; Around The World In 50 Beers
True to the label, this Tasting Room Black Pale Ale looks like a Porter. Not like the label, it doesn't quite drink like a Pale Ale.
Just the Facts
Bottle temp at opening: 38 degrees.
Drinking temp: 39 degrees.
Nose: It's like an Ale, but like a stout, too!
Taste: Greeted by hops and barley, then smooths into toasted wheat.

I'm a fan of this Pale Ale that doesn't know it's a Pale Ale. This is very much like drinking a Guinness Stout, with strong barley and toasted flavor. Put this one back in record time, it was just drinking so good!
I don't know if Tasting Room means Boulevard isn't ready to make this full time, but they would find an enthusiastic audience for this dark detour.
