Banished For Life ?

Let me be very clear that I think Ray Rice should be prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law for what he did to Janay Rice.  He hit her not even with an open hand, but with a closed fist!  That is unacceptable.  I have no idea what she said or did, but it would be very hard to believe it could have provoked THAT!  She's your fiancée !  But try to engage yourself in a frank, honest, and unemotional discussion on this point  .... That guy from the Cowboys killed his teammate driving drunk.  Help me remember .. did he get banned for life ?   Have there been any other players with more incidents and assaults in their pasts ?    Ray Rice had no other incidents, was recognized as a pretty good teammate, and his fiancée forgave him and still married him.  To ban him permanently from his life's work (in the NFL) ... does that exactly match the crime?  Or does the NFL not want any more questions ("just make it go away")  ??    I think it "MIGHT be OK"  to keep talkin' ...
