Arkansas Bridge Finally Collapses Five Hours After Implosion
Yesterday thousands of people gathered along the Arkansas River yesterday morning to watch crews take down the Broadway Bridge via implosion.
The bridge was supposed to be down within minutes, but didn't fall until five hours later.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department confirmed that nothing went wrong with the charges. Each cut worked as it should, but the bridge was falling in on itself.
Eight different attempts were made at pulling the bridge down with tugs and cables. Finally, just before 3PM it came crashing down. The 93-year-old bridge was taken down to make room for a new span.
