I just read today that on this date in 1975, the J. Geils band recorded their show at Cobo Hall in Detroit, and that was the last of the "live" material that they needed to take to the studio and produce their 2nd live album "Blow Your Face Out" ... warms my heart...

The band which gave me my #1 favorite concert experience of all time .. and frankly one of my favorite 5 or 10 Rock & Roll Bands of all time ... primarily used recordings from their Detroit shows for both of their live albums.  and I am proud to say I was THERE for the 1975 show in Detroit.  Due to a parental bias about the safety of Detroit, I was never allowed in high school to go there for a concert.  Well ... this was the ONE Detroit concert I snuck out and took the chance on breaking the rules for.  And yes, it was worth it.  The bonus was getting away with it.  Now, if I catch my daughter doing that same thing ....  she's grounded 'til she's 30 !!
