Wrigley Field To Begin Renovations This Weekend?
That's what the team ownership is saying. Shovels hit the ground for new bleachers, signs and other improvements as early as Friday for the 100-plus-year-old facility.
The stadium construction is necessary for the team to be competitive and profitable, but it will be sad to see Wrigley retro-fitted with new-look amenities. Soldier Field is a better place to watch a football game with it's new remodel, as is the Stadium switch to the United Center, but as a sports fan something is missing from these not-so-hallowed halls of progress. At least I can still get my wallet stolen at the new Comiskey, just like old times...
