It started as any other day for Terry Brubaker, she was headed to the supermarket to fill her daughter's prescription when she saw papers floating in the air.

"I didn’t realize it was money at first," she told WIVB. "I just saw everything floating in the air, so I stopped on the side of the road. And then I saw a $100 dollar bill, another $100 bill, $50 bills, $20 bills, and I’m like wow, it’s a lot of money."

She quickly pulled her car over and started picking up the cash. Terry would dodge cars, grab some money, and then wait on the side of the road. After making her collection, she took it directly to the Sheriff's Office.

As luck would have it, the woman who lost the money was there filing a report at the time. Kim Steenburg had placed the $8,000 on top of her car while she was buckling her niece in and forgot about it.

Kim's husband Rich was one of the 20 victims of the tragic limo crash that happened last year in Schoharie, New York. The money was to go towards a cruise in the Bahamas.
