This Mother's Day story is both horribly tragic and totally awe-inspiring. 55-year-old Diane Aluska from Lindenhurst, New York was walking with her 16-year-old daughter Jenna on Mother's Day.

Suddenly, they saw a car speeding toward them in reverse. The driver was an 80-year-old Ann Riolo, who was backing out of a bakery parking lot and didn't realize she was still in reverse.

Diane's motherly instincts immediately kicked in as she shoved her daughter Jenna out of the way and took the entire impact of the crash.

Tragically, she was killed. Jenna only wound up with minor injuries. No charges have been filed against Ann.
