Woman Crashes Funeral, Attempts to Remove Body From Casket

Cynthia Ann Frierson of Columbia, Tennessee was arrested earlier this week after allegedly trying to remove the body from a casket mid-funeral service.

Officers initially responded to calls regarding hit and runs of parked vehicles. While speaking with witnesses they received another call saying that Frierson was causing a scene at Roundtree-Napier-Ogilvie Funeral Home.

Police spoke with a witness at the funeral home who said, “Frierson showed up at the funeral home as they were actively having a funeral and walked up to the open casket. Then began grabbing at the body inside of the casket and at one point attempted to get the body out of the casket."

Frierson refused to leave and six funeral goers had to pull her outside.

She was charged with disrupting funeral or memorial service, public intoxication, driving on revoked/suspended license, immediate notice of accident and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
