Why Do I Drop Off Toys at The Channel 8 Toy Drive?

Here's why:  Because I am well-intentioned, but dumb.  I always say, "Oh, yeah, I better get some toys to donate this year," while I'm at the toy store, and then, like most people with a dog's attention span, I get distracted and totally forget about it, walking right past the box at the entrance to the store.  Now I just make it a point to say, "When is the toy drive?"  I actually use my phone to remind me to pick up something, and drop it off while I'm running around.  Hope I get on TV this year...

Tomorrow at the Channel 8 Studios, 16th St. Moline from 4:30 AM to 7PM, the Marines will be collecting toys for families in need this gift-giving season.  It's also a good time to say, "thanks" to those who serve.  Speaking of which, I hope Mertens serves me up some coffee.
