Why do Cats go Crazy for Vick’s Vapor Rub?

As with any cold, I'm always worried that it will go to my throat, and I will be unable to talk. My job is pretty easy to do, but once my voice starts to go, I try all kinds of crazy home remedies to keep me able to speak.

One of the things I do to keep the cold away from my vocal chords is slather on the Vick's Vapor Rub.  I don't know if it helps more than anything else, but it makes me feel better short-term at least.  I do know who LOVES, loves the Vick's.  My cats.  Wow.  What is the deal?  Cats nearly chewed my neck off.  Why are cat food companies wasting their time talking about fish, and chicken flavored treats.  They need to hit up the Vick's market.  Holy cow.
