"They blew me away,"

That's how Elton John described his reaction to seeing Greta Van Fleet last night. He was introducing the band to one of the most exclusive gatherings in Hollywood at his annual Oscar party benefitting the Elton John AIDS Foundation. As GVF guitarist Jake Kiszka told us, Elton personally asked the band to perform at the show.

"You're gonna see them here," he told the star-studded crowd, "and "they're gonna be one of the biggest new bands of the year. They have an amazing future ahead of them. I'm so thrilled - I'm so thankful - for them to come on stage and play for you!"

Elton wasn't just the host of the party - he also jammed with the band, playing his own classic "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" and their "You're the One."

Sir Elton, of course, recently announced his farewell tour, while Greta Van Fleet are going to be doing their share of touring this year, both headlining clubs and playing festivals. And, as Jake Kiszka told us, the band hope to finish work on their first full-length album shortly.
