Waiter Receives Dental Work for a Tip

Customers love Brian Maixner, a waiter at the Doo-Dah Diner in Wichita, Kansas, because he has a great attitude. But he's always been afraid to smile because of his teeth. He cracked one of his front teeth years ago, and couldn't afford to fix it.

Last month, he waited on a lawyer from Oklahoma named Fred Boettcher, who was so impressed with him, he didn't just leave a good tip, he offered to have his teeth fixed and pay for the whole procedure.

Brian went to Fred's dentist multiple times over the past few weeks, and now his smile is perfect. It's not clear if Fred worked out a deal with his dentist, and Brian's never seen a bill. At least one expert says all that work could have cost up to $25,000.
