Two Toddlers Die After Mother Locks Them in Hot Car as Punishment
Cynthia Marie Randolph who found her 16-month-old son and 2-year-old daughter dead in May was arrested in relation to the incident.
The 25-year-old mother had found her children playing inside the car and told them to get out using profanity. When her daughter refused, Randolph shut them in to teach them a lesson. She tells authorities that she thought, “she could get herself and her brother out of the car when ready.”
Randolph also said that she went back into her home, smoked weed and napped for a few hours. She also admits to later breaking the car window to make it look like an accident.
The mother was charged with two first-degree felony counts of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.
