Two Teens Face Charges After Trespassing Joliet Prison
The Joliet Correctional Center has been closed for 15 years now, but that didn't stop two teenage girls from going inside.
The girls got around the fence at the old prison and then snuck inside the building. Authorities say one girl somehow got trapped inside a prison cell.
One of the girls called the Joliet Fire Department for help. “She was scared. And she said her name was Brittany, and she said her and her friend were messing around and her friend got locked (in). And I could hear her friend in the background. She was scared.”
They used a sledgehammer to break through the wall to rescue the two teens, who are no facing trespassing charges.
