Every year around this time, ever since 2006, musicians of all levels and instruments (almost) have a chance to attend the "Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp" for what sounds like the experience of a lifetime.  You get "placed" in a band with veteran rock counselors, and you spend 4 or 5 days with them jamming and working on your skills.  For an extra fee, you can attend songwriting camps and "master classes".   The original camp was in New York City, and the cost was $8,500.  These days they happen in Vegas and it's broken down into 3 parts so you could do a single scaled down version for $4,500.  The original list of counselors included Dickey Betts (Allman Bros.), George Thorogood, Mark Farner (Grand Funk), Max Weinberg (Bruce Springsteen), Barry Goodreau (Boston), Simon Kirke (Bad Co.), Jon Anderson (Yes),  and Bruce Kulick (Kiss).  Today, the names list looks overall a little younger and still pretty impressive...Sorry that this years camp just happened last week... my bad.  But if you want to look into next year's camp, go to www.rockcamp.com.
