Today is a sad day for Ramones fans because it's the anniversary of the death of Jeffrey Ross Hyman, AKA Joey Ramone.  He was the founder of the band, and the first to die.  Lymphoma took him at age 49.

The Ramones were awesome, but never commercially successful.  They recorded 14 or 15 studio albums but only one of them went "gold" - a compilation album.  They were influential, inspiring MANY bands and performers.  They were also full of internal conflicts, especially between Joey and Johnny.  They all fought like brothers even though they were not related.  All the original members are gone now, but their music will always be alive.  So today I salute all you Ramones fans and I think it's only right to play a song "in tribute" on the Punch-Out this afternoon!
