Yesterday came and went fairly quietly, and little or no attention was given to the 63rd birthday of Lynyrd Skynyrd founding member Gary Rossington.  His 1976 auto accident was the subject of one of my favorite Skynyrd songs "That Smell" ... "Oak Tree You're In My Way..."    And then his long list of broken bones and injuries from the 1977 plane crash took their toll on him over the years (2 broken arms, wrists, legs, ankles, and a broken pelvis) sometimes making it too difficult to stand long enough to perform live.  Gary Rossington is a guy who's been through a lot of pain, and who's seen a lot of death.  I hope he at least had one full day of happiness yesterday.  Skynyrd fans, I'm still saluting you today!
