Thanksgiving Dinner in 2016 Costs Less Than $5 Per Person

The American Farm Bureau Federation always releases a study around this time of year where they calculate how much it should cost to serve Thanksgiving dinner. And their results always seem very low.

This year is no exception. In fact, the price is down from last year.

According to the study, it should cost only $49.87 to serve Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people next week or less than $5 per person. That's down 1% from last year.

Their dinner includes:

• A 16-pound turkey
• Stuffing
• Sweet potatoes
• Rolls
• Peas
• Cranberries
• Carrots and celery
• Pumpkin pie with whipped cream
• Coffee
• Milk
