Have you noticed the little hockey players that skate out of the duck head at a Mallards game?  The announcer will say "and now here's your QCHA Future Mallards."  If you were unaware the Quad City Hockey Association is our local youth hockey program.  You can find out more information about the QCHA's programs here.

Last night my 2 boys were introduced as "future Mallards."  It's something they have been looking forward to all season long.  When my youngest took his first stride from the duck head, he was so excited, he did a face plant on the ice.  I thought for sure he was going to be devastated.  He hopped up and skated out like nothing happened.  I was unsure how to bring it up when he stepped off the ice.  I didn't want him to feel embarrassed for falling.  Before I could say a word he asked me if I saw him fall.... because "that was awesome!"

Thank you QC Mallards for providing this opportunity at every home game.  The chance to skate out with the team makes an fantastic impression on the kids learning this sport.

If you haven't been to a QC Mallard game lately I would recommend going tomorrow.  Every Friday is $1 hot dogs and $1 beers!  We can even get you to the game for free!Listen to 97X for your chance to win tickets.
