Lisa Alamia of Rosenburg, Texas went in to have surgery on her jaw in order to correct an overbite six months ago. The overbite was fixed, but she was talking like Mary Poppins.

Lisa was diagnosed with a bizarre neurological condition known as foreign accent syndrome. Less than 100 people in as many years have been diagnosed with FAS.

"People who have met me before, they’re shocked. People say ‘oh I love it’ but for me it’s a lot different. People who don’t know me, they’re like, 'Hey, where are you from?'" Lisa told KHOU. "’I’m from Rosenberg’. They’re like, 'Where is that?' I’m like, 'Right here in Rosenberg.' 'Oh, you’re from here? How do you talk like that?' So that’s where the whole story comes up."
