Show Your Horns !

Yesterday was the late Ronnie James Dio's birthday.  Born Ronald James Padavona in New Hampshire to Italian-American parents in 1949, he said he listened to a lot of opera growing up in New York, which explains his vocal style.  He also said he never had any formal vocal training, which does NOT explain his powerful, goose-bump delivering vocal presence!  He was nothing short of awesome with Black Sabbath, Rainbow, and his own band Dio.  But it's another sad story of losing someone too soon, he died of Stomach cancer at 67.  So today, unless you're from Texas...when you stick your hand up and hold the 2 inside fingers together with your thumb , think of the guy who started all that, Ronnie James Dio .  That's how I salute you today, Dio fans ...
